Demi-Hunter Case [also known as a “half-hunter” case] – This is a hunter case that has a circular window cut out of the front cover, often with an additional crystal inset. Most demi-hunter cases have additional numbers on front cover of the case that correspond to the numbers on the dial, which means that you can actually tell the time by looking through the central window without having to actually open the case. A “true” demi-hunter cased watch will also have a special hour hand with an additional pointer on it that can be seen with the cover closed.
